Introduction

Islah is a mobile Islamic companion app designed to support prayer times, Quran reading, deed tracking, diary reflections, and other daily devotional tools.

This privacy policy explains what information Islah handles, how that information is used, when third-party services are involved, and the choices available to users.

Information Collected

Depending on the features a user chooses to enable, Islah may process the following categories of information:

  • Local preferences and settings such as selected prayer zone, theme, notification preferences, countdown style, and a derived location label saved on the device.
  • User-created or user-managed content stored on the device, such as diary entries, deed tracker history, favorite references, liked verses, cached content, and home screen customization choices.
  • Permission-based data such as location information used to detect the nearest prayer zone and support Qibla-related features, and photo library selections used when a user chooses a custom home cover image.
  • Purchase-related state such as subscription entitlement cache, one-time support purchase counters, and product identifiers managed through Apple App Store or Google Play billing.
  • Advertising and engagement data such as rewarded ad interaction counters and, if configured, locally generated visitor and session identifiers used for content analytics events.
  • If remote sync is configured, content sync records and event data sent to Supabase, including visitor ID, session ID, event type, content ID, app path, and related event metadata.

How Data Is Used

Islah uses information to provide core app features, support optional online services, and improve reliability.

  • Calculate prayer times, store the selected zone, and support location-based devotional features such as prayer zone detection and Qibla guidance.
  • Save user preferences, diary content, favorites, deed tracking progress, cached content, and other on-device personalization choices.
  • Schedule and deliver prayer reminders, including re-scheduling notifications after device restart or app update when supported by the platform.
  • Support rewarded ads, subscriptions, and one-time support purchases through integrated advertising and app store billing systems.
  • If enabled, measure content interactions and sync remote content through configured Supabase services.
  • Fetch Quran-related content from external API services when those integrations are enabled.

Permissions Used

Islah requests only the permissions and device capabilities needed for features a user chooses to use.

  • Location access to detect the nearest prayer zone, calculate accurate prayer times for the user’s area, and support Qibla-related features.
  • Photo library or media access so the user can choose a custom cover image for the home screen.
  • Notification permission, exact alarm scheduling, and related background capabilities to send prayer reminders and restore them after reboot or app update where supported.
  • Internet access to sync content, load rewarded ads, process store purchases, and call external Quran API services when configured.
  • Foreground media playback capabilities used for audio-related experiences supported by the app.

Third-Party Services

Islah uses selected third-party providers and platform services to support app functionality.

  • Supabase, when configured, to sync app content and store content analytics or visitor event records.
  • Google Mobile Ads to load and display rewarded ads.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play billing services to process subscriptions and one-time support purchases.
  • Quran Foundation API endpoints, when enabled, to fetch Quran verses, translations, and related tokenized API access.
  • Operating-system location, geocoding, notification, and widget services to support prayer zone detection, reminders, and home screen widget behavior.

Data Retention

Locally stored information such as preferences, diary entries, favorites, deed history, cached content, and saved identifiers generally remains on the user’s device until the user deletes it, clears app storage, or uninstalls the app.

If optional remote sync, analytics, or external service features are enabled, related remote records may be retained by the app operator and relevant providers for operational, analytics, security, and backup purposes.

User Rights / Choices

Users can control many privacy-related choices directly on their device or within the app.

  • Manage location, notification, and photo permissions through device settings.
  • Edit or delete diary entries, favorites, and other locally stored content within the app where those controls are available.
  • Clear app storage or uninstall the app to remove locally stored data from the device.
  • Manage subscriptions and restore purchases through the relevant app store account tools.
  • Contact privacy@example.com for privacy-related questions or requests involving remotely processed data.

Children's Privacy

Islah is a general-audience app focused on devotional and productivity features and is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information through Islah in a way that raises a privacy concern, please contact privacy@example.com.

Security

Islah stores much of its information locally on the user’s device and relies on platform protections such as app sandboxing and operating-system controls.

When remote services are used, the app relies on provider-managed transport and access controls. No method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security, so users should also protect access to their own devices.

International Data Transfers

When remote sync, advertising, billing, or external API features are used, related information may be processed on infrastructure located outside the user’s country.

This may include infrastructure or subprocessors used by providers such as Supabase, Google, Apple, Quran Foundation, or their supporting service providers.

Changes to Policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time to reflect product, operational, or legal changes.

Any updates will be reflected by revising the last updated date shown on this page.
